Creative reuse in the heart of the city centre
15-21 Nun Street is a 3 storey, classically proportioned, grade I listed terraced building forming the southern elevation of the Grainger Market in Newcastle City Centre. Built in 1835 for Richard Grainger by John Dobson the building is currently occupied by retail uses on the ground floor with limited office use above. The majority of the upper floors have sat empty for a number of years.
As with most small floor plate office buildings 15-21 Nun Street does not lend itself to ongoing use as office accommodation given the lack of demand for tenancies of this type with the majority of incoming tenants seeking grade” A” office space with larger floor plates. Our proposals seek to breathe new life into these neglected spaces through refurbishment of the upper floors (including the attic space) as modern one and two bedroom apartments.
