Preston Farm Industrial Estate unit sold to investor above asking price
Acting on behalf of a private landlord, our Teesside agency team has sold a 7,800 sq ft industrial warehouse unit in Preston Farm Industrial Estate to local investor, SCS structures.
The unit, which is located in one of Teesside’s premier commercial locations, is set to be refurbished and offered back on to the market to let. It was sold for £360,000, £10,000 over asking price, and at £45 per sq ft.

Teesside June UpdateThis May was a month of celebration for our Teesside office with a number of deals, new instructions and personal success for agent George Williams. George became a fully qualified member of the RICS after passing his assessment of professional competence at the first time of asking at the beginning of May. George’s success was followed by a strong month for our agency team who sold a 26,592 sq ft industrial unit in Catterick, North Yorkshire. There was also a number of new properties brought to the market by the team including a 7,181 sq ft modern industrial unit in County Durham and 20,000 sq ft of new build industrial space at Aycliffe Business Park. Throughout May our valuation team completed 26 valuation instructions across the region. The jobs included the report and valuation of five residential development sites, four investment properties, seven industrial units and two nurseries, restaurants and retail properties.
APC Success in our Teesside OfficeCongratulations to George Williams, agent in our Teesside office, who yesterday became a qualified member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). George passed his Assessment of Professional Competence (APC), on his first attempt last week, to become an elected member of RICS. The APC process involves practical training and experience which, when combined with academic qualifications, leads to RICS membership. It consists of a period of structured training, culminating with a written submission and a final assessment interview. George works in our North East agency team, who were recently announced as the most active commercial property agency in the region by Estates Gazette, in what is widely recognised as one of the top accolades for real estate agents.
Single storey office building sold in HartlepoolOur Teesside team has recently sold the former Funky World play centre in Hartlepool. The single storey building is suitable for a variety of alternative uses and currently comprises office and meeting room accommodation, along with kitchen facilities and space externally for eight vehicles. The 3,135 sq ft property is located on Durham Street and was purchased for an undisclosed fee.
