New IT apprentice joins the firm

We have opened the door to a career in IT for Lewis Wells, who has been awarded an apprenticeship with the firm.

Lewis will provide frontline technical support for our staff as part of our IT team. He will assist IT manager Les Bessant by providing regular checks on servers, re-imaging computers and performing hardware and software checks, helping to keep the firm’s 200 staff connected to their customers.

Commenting on his new role, Lewis said: “I am really enjoying my work at Sanderson Weatherall. I am very interested in IT and it is great to be given an opportunity to build a career doing something I love. Working for a national company like Sanderson Weatherall gives me the chance to travel to the different branches throughout the country, rather than being combined to one office.”

Lewis is serving a one year apprenticeship with us with the hope of pursuing a permanent career in IT.

Our IT manager, Les Bessant, said: “This is a busy organisation working in a demanding, fast-paced industry so ensuring that all IT systems are running smoothly is imperative. We wanted to expand and also to give a chance to a talented young person, and Lewis has risen to the challenge admirably.”
