London to Bristol Cycle Ride 2015

Published on: 30th June 2015

Sixteen of our property experts have completed a challenging four day, 220 mile bike ride to raise money for two charities.

We have raised £2,769 for Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust and the MS Society. Both charities were put forward by team members and represent causes close to their hearts.  During the past 7 years we have raised over £26,000 for charities through our annual bike ride.

Will Price, architectural technologist at the firm, and this years organiser said "Whilst the blood, sweat and tears will be short lived, the combined £2,769 that the team raised will go on to provide lasting support for the two charities. On behalf of all the riders, we would like to say a big thanks to all those that supported us through donations and best wishes."

About the Ride

The group completed the 220 mile London to Bristol journey via the Isle of Wight. The challenge started on day one at our London office on Great Titchfield Street where they travelled through the capital, down through Wimbledon to join up with Sustrans Route 22, just to the east of Epsom. From there they took a south east direction over the Surrey Hills, where they settled for the evening.

The second day saw the team continue on route 22 which took them south from Liphook, through the South Downs National Park to Portsmouth. The team took a ferry from Portsmouth to Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight. When they got there, they joined the Isle of Wight's circular cycle route, in a clockwise direction, effectively cycling around the bottom of the island before ending the day at Totland.

Day three consisted of taking a ferry from Totland to Lymington on the mainland where they then travelled through the New Forest National Park to Salisbury. The fourth and final day took the team north west on route 24 towards Bath and then on to Bristol where the team finished outside our Bristol Office on Queens Square.
