The HS2 project has 2 phases; Phase 1 and Phase 2. It will predominately travel from London Euston to a range of stops en route including Manchester Piccadilly, Leeds New Lane and Newcastle. The trains will travel at speeds of up to 250mph and this would be the fastest available in Europe.

Enquiries from independent retailers have increased considerably with many of these ambitious businesses looking to set up in city and town centre locations such as Harrogate, Wetherby and Ripon.   Peter Heron, Head of Retail for Sanderson Weatherall in Leeds said “We are starting to get far more enquiries from start-up retailers and they are cropping up in lots of places. It’s early days for a lot of these people, but this is a way of reviving the high street. Retail is a hard business but it’s encouraging that people are being allowed to have a go - the more this happens, the better.”
